West Chester University back on top in week nine of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. — West Chester University's triumph over then-No. 1 East Stroudsburg University last week, gave the Golden Rams the boost they needed to take first place in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll this week. No. 1 West Chester won the conference game, 1-0, over No. 3 East Stroudsburg at home last Tuesday. This week, the first-place team will take on Indiana University of Pennsylvania in their final regular-season contest.

Moving up two spots this week is No. 2 Pace University. Pace is currently at 16-1 and at the top of the Northeast-10 conference standings after a 2-1 victory over No. 4 Merrimack College last week. The Setters will face No. 9 Stonehill College today at 6:00 p.m. EST in the last contest of their regular season.

Going into the final week before postseason, defending Division II national champion, Shippensburg University, is sitting in fifth place, Kutztown University is in sixth place and LIU Post is in seventh place.

The next Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll will be announced on Tuesday, November 13. The poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2018 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship.
